This year just flew by, didn’t it? 2017 has been so eventful, we bet your head’s still spinning from all the excitement. But, there’s definitely something important that you can’t forget to think about this month: How you are going to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Portland. There’s always so much fun to be had in the Rose City, but New Year’s takes it all to a whole other level. The staff and residents at Osprey’s South Waterfront Apartments in Portland have been chattering about this year’s top events, so if you want to welcome 2018 with a bang, we suggest checking out the events below!

Pix Patisserie’s New Year’s Eve Extravaganza

Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate. That’s what you get if you ring in the New Year with Pix Patisserie. After 11 p.m., a beverage purchase gets you full access to a chocolate buffet stocked with cake, ice cream, truffles, beer, and more. (Since Pix Pâtisserie is close to Osprey’s South Waterfront apartments in Portland, you might just see us there, stuffing our faces.)

Goodfoot Pub knows how to do New Year’s Eve in Portland right. Here, there will be a two-floor extravaganza with funk band Quick and Easy Boys and the DJs of Soul Stew. Starting at 10 p.m., you can choose which floor and dance party to join for greeting 2018. Whichever you choose, entrance will cost $20.

New Year’s Eve Cruise

What better way to celebrate the new year than taking to the water! For a mere $99, you can climb aboard the Portland Spirit and say “sayonara” to 2017 against the backdrop of the gorgeous PDX skyline. From 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., ticket holders get to enjoy New Year’s Eve in Portland with champagne, live jazz, and a scrumptious hors-d’oeuvres buffet.

Being that Portland is a music city, it’s expected that there’ll be a killer New Year’s party showcasing killer bands. Soul aficionados Dirty Revival and toe-tapping funk band The Motet will be gracing the Revolution Hall stage starting at 9 p.m. The doors are at 8 p.m. and tickets cost $40.

Midnight NYE

Pure Space is one of the Rose City’s foremost event venues so it’s no surprise that from 8 p.m. until who knows when, all of its 16,500+ square feet will be dedicated to celebrating New Year’s Eve in Portland. Midnight NYE will feature a cool light show and two DJs spinning tunes that will get you on your feet. Tickets range from $40 to $150.

This is easily Portland’s most famous NYE party. Born out of one man’s frustration with crowded bars, Champagne Ball is a black-tie event that offers access to four themed party rooms, three dance floors, 18 bars, food, one awesome band, and three amazing DJs. If you have a sharp outfit and $105 to $175 to spend, then plan to spend New Year’s Eve in Portland at the Hilton starting at 8 p.m.

Who doesn’t love dueling pianos? And, who doesn’t love dueling pianos while munching on a three-course dinner, sipping champagne, and embracing a new year? That’s what you’ll get with the Barrel Room on NYE. There’ll also be DJs, a patio bar, and yes — you can purchase tickets that include apps only, show only, or patio bar only. 7:30 p.m. is the time and $25 to $100 is the cost.

With a name like “Tony’s Am Gold Seventies Soft Rockin’ NYE Party”, how could you not be interested? For a truly unique New Year’s Eve in Portland, hit up the Tony Starlight Showroom where, you guessed it, Tony Starlight will be performing the greatest soft rock hits from the 70s. There will be two separate shows at 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., and prices range from $35 to $79.

Yes, we’re talking about spending NYE with the Pink Martini. Portland’s beloved “little orchestra” will be bringing a spectacular mix of classical, jazz, Latin, and traditional pop music to the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Guests include the Oregon Symphony, Storm Large, China Forbes and many more. The tunes begin at 7 p.m. and will cost you anywhere from $40 to $125.

That pretty much says it all, doesn’t it? At Dig A Pony, New Year’s Eve in Portland means dancing the night away until it’s time for the quintessential NYE kiss. The night will feature music, DJs, and “one of the largest bar tops in town”. All the hoopla starts early at 5 p.m. and will cost whatever you spend on drinks and food.
